Essential Information to Help You Make the Most of the Genoa Boat Show
If it is your first visit to the city of Genoa and you speak little if no Italian, it may be a good idea to brush up on some information before you attend the Genoa Boat Show. Being prepared can make navigating the event much simpler.
When and Where
This year, 2008, the boat show is from October the 4 th through the 12 th. . The show is open daily from 10am until 6pm. You may find it useful to pick up the list the organizers provide of hotels so you get an idea of how far it is from the lodging establishment you have chosen. You may want to hire a cab or take public transportation in order to get there as driving is not advised.
How Should You Get There?
Cooperativa Battellieri and Alimar will get you near the show from Pegli, Marina Porto Antico, Acquario and Ponte Parodi by boat. This is probably a very lovely ride especially since you are attending a boat show. There are plenty of buses as well that will get you to the Genoa Boat Show leaving from a wide variety of destinations. The train may be the easiest method to get you there if you are near to the Brignole Rail station. It is just 1 km from the show and shuttles are provided to bring you there and back to the station.
Prices & Fees
The price for a ticket to attend the Genoa Boat Show is 13 euros. For children 6 and under, admission is free. If you are traveling with a group of at least 30 or more people, the show offers a discount price. You can also bring your pooch along with you to the show. There is even an area set aside just for them.
Getting Inside
For spectator convenience there are three entrances into the show. One is at Kennedy Square, another is Marina 2 at Riparzioni Navali and the last is on the docks with the boats from Marina 1. If you have not yet purchased your ticket you can do so at the ticket office that can be found at Kennedy Square.
