Genoa Weather, Italy

Genoa stands out of having three main seasons. Aututmn, Summer and Spring. The winters there tend to be short and freezing nights are few and far between. Many tourists enjoy visiting during spring, when the climate is especially pleasant. In May, in particular, the sea can be warm enough for swimming and the summer crowds have yet to arrive.

The peak time though is the summer months, when it is hot and dry, with up to ten hours of sunshine a day and comfortable warmth in the evenening, making it possible to enjoy dining outside in the evening. The summer heat often stretches into late September.

Autumn weather usually starts late in Genoa. In October, temperatures can remain as high as 19°C / 65°F. It is during November that weather starts to turn more autumnal, with cooler temperatures during both the day and night. November is also the time of year when Genoa experiences its highest levels of rainfall.
